Discovering you are an LMT is the icing on the cake. I was trained in the US over 20 years ago as an LMT and now live in the UK. The regulation here is not great. People with 36 hours of training practice massage here right next to me with my 500 hours. Its a bit annoying due to the way clients become convinced of utter bollocks by “therapists" with no real foundational training. The sexual stigma is still an issue here too especially for our Asian colleagues.

I stopped practicing last year due to the pandemic and may not re-enter the field.

Emotion Code is another new fangled thing I’ve experienced and it left me wondering what to say to the nice lady who did it. I didn’t feel any different afterwards. Pseudo science complimentary therapies are just as bad for the industry as the sexual stigma, really. Both keep respectable clients with common sense from visiting massage therapists. Bummer.
