Filthy Fly-Tipper’s Tampon Kills Innocent Weiner Dog

My friends lost their dachshund on Saturday morning after a failed surgery to remove a used tampon from her intestines. She must have picked it up on a walk because neither of these people have any reason to have a used tampon in their house or grounds.

Apparently, there were signs in hindsight that things were amiss, such as some weird throat clearing from wee Heidi, but I would hardly rush my dog to the vet if she were making a few coughs and then drinking and behaving as normal. I think they just want to believe saving her was possible, but when your time is up, your time is up.

There was nothing more they could have done to save her.

Dachshund drama is usually charming and lovely, like the wee dogs themselves. This is awful.

If the vet had been able to get to the tampon before it reached her intestines, she would likely have lived, but it just went down too fast.

She was only three years old. Lovely and curly haired and ginger. She yapped at most people a fair bit but she loved to be cradled like a fussy baby. My male whippet was absolutely smitten with her.

Heidi leaves behind a pack of three dogs and two humans, all utterly bereft. The other dogs and her humans were able to say goodbye to her before she had to go, which is…
