I just wish that in some way this problem could be turned into a comeback opportunity for small shops like local butchers and bakers and green grocers. My high street could use some life in it again. I expect any ideas would have to come from local energy though, as I can't imagine the government at the moment having the vision required for investing in our own communities like that. Always some excuse about money, as if austerity does anything but fuck us harder.
