I see now where our disagreement is stemming from. We both agree that societies need order and law. Absolutely require them, in fact.

I grew up in SC, which is where almost all of the black americans descended from slaves originate, or have family. So if those folks are moving to Georgia or SC, for example, where almost all of them had to flee Jim Crow after being stolen away and brought there in the first place, they have a deeper connection that I think does qualify as " I used to visit and I love it." Hell, half their family still lives there! So I started from that viewpoint, and as you said, you aren't familiar with the South, necessarily.

Finally, our system only ever worked for white men. It still doesn't deliver for women or minorities. Just sayin.
