I'm so sorry that this is the most common experience men seem to have. I've always tried to lift up and support the dreams of men I loved. Ive learned some valuable skills doing so! Unfortunately, I tend to choose men who don't reciprocate that energy towards my dreams.
Perhaps women are afraid to be dragged down because of capitalism, as many other commenter mentioned. There's something in that point, for sure. I'm sure men feel the same when they engage with a woman who earns less than them.
